Atelier Mel Weisweiler

Leonardeau – A WORLD OF GLASS AND WATER

Back to the origin “spring”, which was embodied by a reduced cylinder and stood at the center of the fair presentations. Here, water in its three aggregate states - solid, liquid and gaseous - could be experienced consciously and with all the senses. “Leonardeau” was the name of the new water world, whose key product was a cylinder-shaped water carafe. The closure of the carafe: a water cup finely engraved with various philosophical quotations. Visitors walked on glass walkways over water through wafts of mist and past melting blocks of ice to the source in the form of a futuristic water dispenser - a design object and light source at the same time. The fresh, clear water flowed from it - directly into the new water glasses. In addition, an illuminated water bar with integrated water coolers and vitamin tablet dispensers was designed, into which you could dive as if into a futuristic underwater world of the new millennium.

The logical consequence of the water theme was the market launch of still table water.

In addition to product design and development, fair stand concept and realization, as well as a TV installation in the Galleria at Messe Frankfurt, Mel Weisweiler's team was responsible for all communication measures from naming, logo and key visuals to fair invitations, product catalogs, a magazine, press relations and POS conception.

A coherent concept, which owner F. J. Kleine comments on as follows: “Mel Weisweiler's concept allows the water to have an effect in its essential qualities - clarity, permeability, the play of light, the refraction of colors, its bubbling, lively vitality. The simple but perfect cylindrical shape of her products does justice to water. But what particularly impressed us about Mel Weisweiler is her approach to getting to the bottom of a subject - or in this case, to the source. She does this with impressive enthusiasm and energy.”
